Popular Christmas Toys as seen on Working Lunch
Baby & Toddler, Gifts & Gadgets, Toys, Working Lunch Add commentsTuesday’s Working Lunch featured gadget buyer Ella Williamson and Matthew Bath from consumer magazine Which?, discussing the must-have Christmas toys this year in the weekly ‘Tech Shed’ slot. Working Lunch presenter Declan quizzed Ella on what the most popular Christmas toys would be this year, and this is what she said:
1) Elmo Interactive Doll
There are a number of Elmo Interactive Dolls on the market and quite a few are tough to get hold off this close to Christmas due to their popularity. We’ve featured the TMX Elmo Extra Special Edition which is similar to the one demonstrated by Ella Williamson on Working Lunch. The more you tickle this Elmo, the more he laughs and giggles. He will even roll over and get back up again. The classic Sesame Street character also sings and performs all manner of other amusing moves and sounds.

2) Kota the Triceratops
Kota was featured on Something for the Weekend’s gadget round-up a while ago, but it made a re-appearance on Working Lunch on Tuesday. Declan commented that Kota the Triceratops isn’t cheap (and at £300 he’s not wrong!), but Ella Williamson defended the product saying that it is a very advanced and intelligent sit-on dinosaur toy that kids will really love and bond with. It’s like a pet without the hassle and smell. Kota the Triceratops features eleven sensors on it’s body making it very responsive – kids can stroke Kota, feed him, ride on him and Kota will respond accordingly.
Declan Curry said that Kota cost £300 but Amazon are currently selling this toy at £219.99, a saving of 80 pounds.
