Under the leadership of Phil Wrigley, New Look has become the third largest seller of women’s clothes in the UK, and New Look is still expanding despite the Credit Crunch. New Look is actually buying some of the stores that used to be owned by Woolworths.

Phil Wrigley appeared on Working Lunch on Tuesday to talk about New Look. Phil confirmed that New Look had acquired 3 or possibly 4 stores that used to belong to Woolworths, and that New Look was looking to move into those stores as quickly as possible to create new jobs. Phil also confirmed that New Look had been very busy particularly during the first week of their sale.

Phil Wrigley told Working Lunch that the average age of a New Look customer was 33 – surprisingly old you would think. New Look have a broad base of customers over different ages, all of who are young at heart. Fiona Brown, wife of PM Gordon Brown, is apparently a New Look customer, sporting a New Look hat recently.
