Jamie’s Ministry of Food by Jamie Oliver as seen on The One Show
Books, Food & Drink, The One Show Add commentsJamie Oliver appeared on BBC’s The One Show to discuss his new book Jamie’s Ministry of Food: Anyone can learn to cook in 24 hours. One Show presenters Christine Bleakley and Adrian Chiles quizzed Jamie on whether it is really possible for anyone to learn to cook in 24 hours. Jamie Oliver thought it was definitely possible.
Jamie said there was research out today (6th October 2008) which predicted that in the next 12 years, 75% of us are going to be either overweight or obese, a frightening prospect. Jamie Oliver thought that the future doesn’t look that bright unless something quite radical happens.
Put simply by Adrian Chiles, there are too many people eating too much rubbish. Jamie Oliver’s documentary Jamie’s Ministry of Food focused on a five year old girl who had never eaten a home cooked meal. There was some controversy over whether Jamie Oliver had portrayed the town of Rotherham in a bad light – Rotherham features in the documentary, but Jamie refuted those accusations.
Jamie Oliver’s new book attempts to teach the nation how to cook, especially those who have no real interest in food. It is available to buy online now and would make a great gift for anyone who wants to learn how to cook wholesome, tasty, healthy food.
