The Purelight MD UV handheld cleaning wand was the first of this week’s Something for the Weekend gadgets – thought they described it as the Purelight XD which is the bigger version of the UV steriliser device. Gadget expert Charlotte explained that the Purelight MD emits ultraviolet light which kills bacteria by breaking down the DNA in germs and viruses.
To use the Purelight MD you simply wave it over the surfaces you want to clean, eg a kitchen worktop, for around 20 seconds, and the Purelight MD will kill 99.9% of germs and bacteria. Good for a laptop aswell as kitchen worktops – according to a Which report, a laptop keyboard contains more bacteria than your average toilet seat. Must wash my hands after writing this article…
