Karl Pilkington appeared on Something for the Weekend this morning to talk about his new book ‘Karlology: What I’ve Learnt So Far’. Karl Pilkington shot to fame largely down to his association with Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, and his weird and wonderful ramblings on the Ricky Gervais podcast, and previously producer of Ricky’s radio show.

Karlology is a book about the workings of Karl Pilkington’s mind. He looks at the world in a different way to most ‘normal’ people. On Something for the Weekend, Tim Lovejoy asked Karl Pilkington to sum up how the book came about. When Karl was doing the radio show with Ricky and Steve, Karl explained, they would throw stuff at him (verbally, not physically) that confused him. Ricky and Steve were amazed at Karl’s lack of knowledge and discovered that his only GCSE was an E in History. Karl said that this was the purpose behind writing the book – a quest for knowledge, visiting museums and art galleries.

In Karlology, Karl Pilkington embarks on a journey from museums to art galleries, and writes down his experiences in hilarious prose. It is an irreverant look at the world from the author of the best selling ‘The World of Karl Pilkington’ and ‘Happyslapped by a Jellyfish’.
