What a week it has been for football fans. Dimitar Berbatov finally signed for Manchester United for around £30.75 million after weeks of speculation. Alex Ferguson had to personally collect Berbatov from Manchester Airport after news came in of a Manchester City takeover by royal trillionaires from Abu Dhabi, and subsequent late bid for Berbatov which was accepted by Tottenham Hotspur.

Manchester City went on to sign Brazilian attacker Robinho for £32.5 million, a new British transfer record.

The whole saga of transfer deadline day was brilliantly reported by Sky Sports News, who kept football fans glued to their screens until midnight on a day which saw plenty of last minute transfers and bids.
