Clocky was the brainwave of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) student Gauri Nanda. LK Today style expert Carole Machin demonstrated Clocky’s unique function – an alarm clock that rolls off your bedside table and finds a hiding place, forcing you to get up and find Clocky to turn it off.

LK Today style guru Carole said that whilst traditional alarm clocks are great, particularly in the winter months it’s oh so easy to simply press the snooze button and stay in bed. Clocky the runaway alarm clock aims to solve this problem.

Rather than just press snooze on an alarm clock, when Clocky goes off it rolls off your bedside table, onto the floor, and by the time you’ve found Clocky to turn it off, you’re already out of bed and wide awake – you might as well get up.

Clocky was demonstrated in the LK Today studio. Lorraine Kelly said it was really clever, and robust. Clocky’s special design means that it can fall quite a long way without being damaged, onto either carpet or floorboards.
