Moneysavingexpert Martin Lewis appeared on GMTV with Lorraine to tell viewers about the best deals around at the moment. Here are some of the best deals of the week.

First up was the European Health Insurance Card, EHIC card. Martin Lewis urged everyone to get one of these. If you’re carrying a European Health Insurance Card and you go anywhere in the European Union, or Switzerland, it gives you free or discounted treatment in a state-run hospital. The EHIC card replaced the E111 insurance form in September 2005, and millions of people got an EHIC card then. However, many people’s EHIC card will have now expired, so make sure yours is renewed if you have one. You can apply for an EHIC card here

The second Martin Lewis best deal was free DVD rental from Tesco. Tesco are no longer just a supermarket. They now have an online DVD rental service where you choose the DVDs, Tesco post them to you, and when you’ve finished you post them back. There is a special code which will get you free DVD rentals from Tesco: TDRXMSRAF8. Entering this code on the Tesco DVD rental website will get you the first 3 months of DVD rental absolutely free. If you don’t want to continue the service after 3 months, make sure you cancel it in time.
