Alexandra Burke pipped Eoghan Quigg and boy band JLS to the post to become X Factor winner on Saturday night. It was a star-filled night with performances from the likes of Boyzone and Beyonce alongside the X Factor finalists. Alexandra Burke is sure to be Christmas number one with her new single Hallelujah, a very catchy pop song performed by her and the second placed act JLS live on the show.

Alexandra Burke new single Hallelujah as seen on X Factor is released in CD format in just 2 days time, and is available now for pre-order. Hallelujah is also available for download, but a CD would make a great Christmas present for any Alexandra Burke or X Factor fan.

Britney Spears songs were sung on this week’s The X Factor, culminating in a performance by Britney herself. Britney Spears has had a torrid time in the media over the past few years, with reports of a breakdown, shaving her head and having custody of her children taken away from her by ex-husband Kevin Federline. However, Britney has undertaken a remarkable recovery and has regained her status as one of the world’s top pop stars.

Britney Spears’ new single Womaniser is a huge hit in the singles charts, and her new album Circus, released on the 1st December, is sure to also be a huge best seller. Her appearance on The X Factor is sure to increase sales of Circus in Britain.

Leona Lewis appeared on the X Factor on Saturday night to sing a cover of the Snow Patrol classic ‘Run’. Leona won the X Factor herself in the third series of the show to become the first female X Factor winner and joining fellow winners Steve Brookstein, Shayne Ward and Leon Jackson in the record books. Leona has been the most successful of all the X Factor winners, enjoying astronomical success both here and abroad, most notably America, when her debut album ‘Spirit’ was released.

Spirit is about to be re-issued in time for Christmas, as a ‘deluxe’ edition containing a CD and DVD. It comes complete with all the great hits from the original Spirit album including Bleeding Love, Better in Time, A Moment Like This and Footprints in the Sand. It also includes 3 new songs, ‘Run’ a cover of the Snow Patrol hit; ‘Misses Glass’ and new single ‘Forgive Me’, a collaboration with Akon. The enclosed DVD includes a making of the new single ‘Forgive Me’ video and all the music videos from Spirit including UK and US versions of A Moment Like This and Bleeding Love.

Last night the X Factor finalists sang their new charity single ‘Hero’, which aims to make money for Help the Heroes and the Poppy Appeal.

Unfortunately for Scott Bruton it was one of his last performances on The X Factor, as he was kicked off last night when the judges chose Daniel to stay over him.

The X Factor charity single Hero should shoot to the top of the charts, and all proceeds go to really worthwhile charities.
