Martin Lewis appeared on GMTV with Lorraine this morning with some more money saving expert advice. We are another week closer to Christmas and great bargain deals are beginning to crop up, like great value champagne.

Martin Lewis explained that Marks and Spencer are currently offering half price champagne. This offer applies to 2 of its main brands, but if you want to take advantage of some half-price champagne you need to be quick - stock is selling out as we speak.

Bargain pyjamas were next for the Martin Lewis treatment. Use by dates are about safety, but best before dates are totally different - best before dates only warn of optimum quality of the food before that particular date. Finally, November is Will Aid month, meaning that 1100 solicitors around the UK will make you a will for no cost. They would like you to make a donation to a Will Aid charity in return for this, but if you can’t afford the £75 suggested donation, it’s not compulsory. With just 45 days to go until Christmas, now is the time to start your Christmas shopping. Martin Lewis was on GMTV with Lorraine to give his expert money saving advice.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is this year’s must have video game and it was released today. Martin Lewis revealed that although the typical price for this game is £40-£45, Sainsburys appear to be selling it instore for around £25, using a classic loss leader tactic to draw people into their supermarket.

Now is a good time to start your Christmas shopping IF you know what you want and are looking for specific things. However if you’re prepared to sacrifice some choice to pick up a bargain, the real bargains will appear just before Christmas.

Online Christmas shopping is great for a benchmark for the lowest prices this Christmas. The likes of pricerunner and Kelkoo will help you find the cheapest deals. Make sure you shop by price rather than by popularity in order to get the cheapest deals.

Once you’ve found the cheapest deals, make sure you go through a cashback site such as Quidco to get an extra amount off your online shopping.

Ronan Keating appeared on GMTV with Lorraine this morning to talk about his new album, Winter Songs, out on Monday. Winter Songs is the next solo album from Ronan Keating. The Boyzone singer explained that Winter Songs is a group of festive records including classics such as Silent Night and Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, plus a few left of centre song choices like Jonie Mitchell’s River, Ring Them Bells by Bob Dylan and a couple of songs written by Ronan Keating himself including new single Stay.

If you’re going to scrimp and save on your beauty essentials this winter, try not to on your moisturiser. Lorraine Kelly commented that the hydra quench rich cream felt great on the skin.

Onto hair care, and the recommended product was the Garnier  Bamboo Flexihold Hairspray with bamboo extract for a strong and flexible hold.

The Nars Eyeliner Stylo Pen is like a felt pen and will not shift in wet weather. It costs around £18 for the eyeliner pen and is easy to use. For cracked lips, the halfway house lipstick / lipbalms are very good. The Besame Lipstick has lots of moisturising ingredients in it like beeswax, essential for glamorous but moisturised lips - the best of both worlds!

The Noisettes appeared on GMTV with Lorraine to perform one of their singles. Things have been really hotting up for The Noisettes in the music industry recently. Since graduating from the Brits school, they’ve released one of this year’s biggest selling singles Don’t Upset the Rhythm and critics are now calling them the best live band in Britain. They recently performed at the GMTV fashion awards in Croydon, and their new album is entitled Wild Young Hearts.

The Saturdays made an appearance on GMTV this morning to perform a song from their new album. Entitled Chasing Lights, it includes the hit singles ‘Up’ and ‘Just Can’t Get Enough’. The Saturdays are now pop stars in their own right but they have supported the likes of Girls Aloud and The Jonas Brothers on their tours.

Home hair dye kits were tested on GMTV with Lorraine this morning. Garnier Nutrisse Cream at around £5 received a rating of 7 out of 10. It was nice to use but hair felt slightly dry afterwards according to the GMTV tester. Her hair had a lovely shine to it according to the GMTV expert. Next up was Clairol Nice ‘n Easy Perfect 10 which scored a remarkable 10 out of 10. The Perfect 10 gives excellent shine, colour and condition and takes only 10 minutes.

Nora used Boots Botanics at £3.91 which she was very happy with. It only took 20 minutes and the colour came out very shiny and rich compared to her old look - 9 out of 10. The GMTV expert said these hair products were all great for colour depth and shine. Finally the L’Oreal Casting Creme Gloss was tested and the lady was very pleased with the results. The Casting Creme Gloss is a semi-permanent hair dye, is easy to apply and a subtle colour difference - 8 out of 10.
