Top 5 Tweeters as seen on The Gadget Show

Other, The Gadget Show No Comments »

Gadget Show presenter Pollyanna looked at the top 5 people to follow on Twitter this week. Love it or loathe it, Twitter is a phenomenon. It is a window into a world of breaking news and fierce public debate (and Lady Gaga). What you get out of Twitter purely depends on who you follow. Follow the right people and it could be a lot more useful than you think.

In just a few years Twitter has gone global and now has 150 million tweeters worldwide. But which of them should you really follow, according to The Gadget Show? Here are the top 5 tweeters:

5. @DrSamuelJohnson

This is a mystery tweeter who writes in the style of the famous 18th century wit who wrote the first English dictionary. He has around 22,000 followers and tweets opinions on the likes of Wagner from X Factor.

4. @vouchercodescom

VoucherCodesCom is a great way to save money on your tech. Shopping for gadgets on the High Street can be a very expensive experience. But there are substantial savings to be made by buying online, especially if you’re following VoucherCodesCom on Twitter. Each tweet details promotions, offers and special deals on a variety of items. Simply click on the link and you’re given a unique voucher code that will save you money.

3. @foodpickle

Now you can get all the answers to your culinary catastrophes. Ask @foodpickle anything you like about food and cooking by tweeting your question. A community of great cooks and food experts will be ready to feed you an answer.

2. @TheGadgetShow

The Gadget Show twitter account will keep you up to date with everything you need to know about the show. They post regular tweets about regular news, tech they are using and when they are about to go on air.

1. @NASA_Astronauts

The number one tweeter according to The Gadget Show is NASA Astronauts. Being in space is something that the majority of us will never experience. But, following NASA Astronauts can give you an idea of what it’s like. A team of NASA’s Astronauts tweet updates, news, and even post pictures of space.

Martin Lewis Christmas Shopping Advice as seen on GMTV with Lorraine

GMTV, Other No Comments »

With just 45 days to go until Christmas, now is the time to start your Christmas shopping. Martin Lewis was on GMTV with Lorraine to give his expert money saving advice.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is this year’s must have video game and it was released today. Martin Lewis revealed that although the typical price for this game is £40-£45, Sainsburys appear to be selling it instore for around £25, using a classic loss leader tactic to draw people into their supermarket.

Now is a good time to start your Christmas shopping IF you know what you want and are looking for specific things. However if you’re prepared to sacrifice some choice to pick up a bargain, the real bargains will appear just before Christmas.

Online Christmas shopping is great for a benchmark for the lowest prices this Christmas. The likes of pricerunner and Kelkoo will help you find the cheapest deals. Make sure you shop by price rather than by popularity in order to get the cheapest deals.

Once you’ve found the cheapest deals, make sure you go through a cashback site such as Quidco to get an extra amount off your online shopping.

November is Will Aid month, as noted on Working Lunch yesterday. What this means is that you can get yourself a free will, or one for a small donation. Getting a will drawn up can be expensive, but as part of Will Aid month some solicitors will draw up a will for you in exchange for a donation to charity. You are asked to donate £75 to the charity of your choice but this is not compulsory and your donation can be lower if you can’t afford it.

Win The X Factor show tickets as seen on The X Factor

Other, The X Factor No Comments »

The X Factor is sweeping the nation and stirring up controversy every Saturday and Sunday night. The public decided that they wanted to see more of Jedward and Lucie was unfortunately booted off the show. The decision has not gone down well with a large part of the British viewing public.

What will happen next week? Will John and Edward be saved again? Will one of the favourites, such as Danyl Johnson or Stacey Solomon have to leave the show?
