Clarisonic Mia Sonic Skin Cleaning System as seen on Something for the Weekend

The Clarisonic Mia is a sonic skin cleaning system. It works using sonic vibrations on the skin. Simply put your facial cleanser on, then move the Clarisonic Mia around your face. Tim Lovejoy had a go without facial cleanser, and the Clarisonic Mia was so good he couldn’t even feel it working. The Clarisonic Mia is apparently twice as effective at getting dirt off your face.

Powerspin as seen on Something for the Weekend, £19.99

The Powerspin is a new exercise tool designed to tone and firm your abs and your arms with just a few minutes’ use each day. It is reminiscent of the Powerball wrist stregthener in it’s use of gyroscopic forces to give you a good workout. The Powerspin looks like a steering wheel. You simply grab it and get the ball within it spinning round – the gyroscope does the rest and you’ll be feeling the burn in seconds.

The Powerspin is a great little exercise tool for those who want better abs and arms without too much effort. At £19.99, the Powerspin is pretty cheap too.

To Chan and Karen Ho entered the Dragons’ Den hoping for a £150,000 investment for a 30% stake in their fish pedicure treatment spa, Aqua Sheko. Their first fish spa was opened in June 2010, one of the first fish pedicure spas in the UK. The pedicure involves Garra Rufa fish sucking and effectively feeding off your feet leaving them soft, clean and supple. In December 2010 they opened an Aqua Sheko in Soho. Despite impressing the Dragons’ with their passion, drive and obvious intelligence, they failed to win the investment they needed.

Winter Beauty Essentials as seen on GMTV with Lorraine

GMTV, Health & Beauty No Comments »

According to beauty experts, this week’s cold and windy conditions mean it’s the time of year to start thinking about some winter beauty essentials. GMTV with Lorraine’s Kirsty was sent to investigate the best winter beauty essentials, and here were the results:

Dermalogica daily microfoliant is one of the best exfoliators on the market, and exfoliation is a key aspect when thinking about winter beauty, to make sure the moisturiser can really penetrate the skin. This daily microfoliant is gentle enough to use every day.

If you’re going to scrimp and save on your beauty essentials this winter, try not to on your moisturiser. The Clarins HydraQuench Rich Cream is an excellent moisturiser with a special ingredient to hold moisture into your skin – perfect for dry weather. Lorraine Kelly commented that the hydra quench rich cream felt great on the skin.

Sanctuary Radiance Boosting Facial Oil was the next recommendation for a once a week skin boost.

Onto hair care, and the recommended product was the Garnier  Bamboo Flexihold Hairspray with bamboo extract for a strong and flexible hold.

The Nars Eyeliner Stylo Pen is like a felt pen and will not shift in wet weather. It costs around £18 for the eyeliner pen and is easy to use. For cracked lips, the halfway house lipstick / lipbalms are very good. The Besame Lipstick has lots of moisturising ingredients in it like beeswax, essential for glamorous but moisturised lips – the best of both worlds!
