The Million Pound Drop, the tense quiz show hosted by Davina McCall, is back on our screens this December. A gaggle of new contestants are desperately trying to keep hold of the million pounds they are given at the start of the show by piling the money on the correct answer to a sequence of multiple choice questions. It’s not easy, but some do manage to leave the show with life changing sums of money.

The X Factor is back with a brand new series and a revamped judging panel for 2011. Simon Cowell, Danni Minogue and Cheryl Cole have made way for new X Factor judges Tulisa, Kelly Rowland and Gary Barlow.

Red or Black is the new smash hit ITV show produced by Simon Cowell and presented by Ant and Dec. The show has already stirred up controversy when a contestant with a previous conviction for assault went on to win the £1 million jackpot.

The rules in Red or Black couldn’t be more simple. A large number of contestants choose either red or black, a colour is randomly chosen (usually in an entertaining way) and the contestants who chose incorrectly are eliminated. The contestants are eventually whittled down to just one who then has to choose red or black on a huge roulette wheel for the chance to win the £1 million jackpot.

It’s the battle of the World Cup flops as England take on France at Wembley tonight in their final international of a troubled year for Fabio Capello’s team. Andy Carroll is set to make his England debut tonight after a string of impressive performances for Newcastle in the Premier League, though a groin problem picked up at the weekend could see him sidelined.

Big Brother is back on our screens with a bang for the 2009 series. Last thursday Davina announced the 16 contestants and the initial twist – none of them are proper housemates until they have earned full housemate status. First to earn housemate status was Rodrigo and Noirin followed by Lisa and Kris. Last night Saffia, Charlie and Karly completed Special Forces tasks to earn the right to sleep in the Big Brother bedroom.

Current Big Brother 2009 favourite is Brazilian bi-sexual Rodrigo followed by gay geordie Charlie and ladies man Kris, but this early in the competition the odds are subject to wild change. More housemates are expected to arrive as the weeks progress and the tension builds and nerves begin to play a part.
